What we collect
When you use the contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to give us:
- your name, organisation, email address and telephone number;
- the type of enquiry, and your message;
- for enquiries about a sale or an opportunity, details of the care home or business, such as its name, location, number of beds and type of care.
Like most websites, our hosting provider also records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the website secure and working.
Please do not include personal information about residents, service users or colleagues in your message. We do not need it to begin a conversation.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, discuss a possible acquisition, partnership or introduction. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: it is in both our interests that we can reply to you properly.
- To keep the website secure and working. Our legal basis is legitimate interests.
- To meet legal obligations, for example responding to a lawful request from a regulator or court. Our legal basis is legal obligation.
We do not use the information you send us for marketing, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
Enquiries are handled by a small team at CGEN Care. We may share information with:
- the companies in our group, Stow Healthcare and St Matthews Healthcare, where your enquiry concerns them, for example a question about a home or a role;
- service providers who host and support this website and our email, acting on our instructions;
- our professional advisers, where needed to deal with your enquiry; and
- regulators, courts or law enforcement where we are legally required to.
Where a provider processes information outside the UK, we make sure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up. If no relationship follows, we normally delete them within 24 months of our last contact. If we do business together, we keep records for as long as the law and our legitimate business needs require.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. These rights have some limits. To use any of them, email hello@cgencare.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
